Modern Family: Refreshing Comedy

If you haven’t tuned into Sky1’s Modern Family yet…why ever not?! This mockumentary-style comedy is a breath of fresh air compared to the endless legal dramas, reality shows and period dramas that get churned out every year. It really is something different and, most importantly, it’s funny!

There are three families: Jay is now married to a much younger woman Sofia. His daughter Claire is practically the same age as his new wife. Claire is trying to control her two kids, who are growing up too fast, and often finds her husband is a bit of a child himself! Her brother Mitchell has also recently adopted a Vietnamese child with his boyfriend. The trials and tribulations of these three interlinked families make for side-splitting comedy; I just love watching how they deal with everyday dramas in their own eccentric way. In this clip, the family are introduced to 13-year-old Hayley’s new, much-older, wannabe rockstar boyfriend:
