Charlie’s Angels Revived

Charlies Angels - back for a TV series, produced by Drew BarrymoreThe latest old school TV series looking to make a comeback is Charlie’s Angels. US broadcaster ABC is believed to be very close to shooting a pilot for a revived version of the action series. Josh Friedman, who produced Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, is on board as writer and is joined by Drew Barrymore as executive producer. The actress not only starred in but also exec-produced two recent films based on the series. The 70s hit made household names out of Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith and the late Farrah Fawcett-Majors. So who will replace them as the kick-ass detectives? Drew Barrymore could step in front of the camera again. She did it for the movies, so why not for the TV series? Cameron Diaz joined her on the film, but it’s not likely that she’ll give up the big screen for this. Lucy Lui’s career seems to have plummeted of late, so maybe she’ll re-join Drew to make two thirds of the trio? What about the third angel? And who will provide the voice of Charlie? The possibilities are endless! Watch this space.
