Ant & Dec Have X Factor
They’ve proved they’ve still got the X factor, as Ant and Dec picked up three awards at the TV Quick and TV Choice Awards. For the first time in its nine-year history, the ceremony included an Outstanding Contribution Award. After an amazing 20 years in showbiz, the presenters were honoured with the new award, plus Best Entertainment Show for Saturday Night Takeaway and Best Talent Show for Britain’s Got Talent. Not bad for a couple of Geordie lads who are barely in their thirties! The honour must come as a welcome surprise to them, considering ITV’s Saturday Night Takeaway will not be returning for a new series.
The BBC was the other big winner on the night. EastEnders walked away with Best Soap, whilst the Danielle and Ronnie storyline won Best Soap Storyline and Danielle herself (Lauren Crace) walked away with Best Newcomer. Corrie did triumph, however, in the Best Soap Actor (Simon Gregson) and Best Soap Actress (Katherine Kelly) categories. Waterloo Road also got a couple of nods for Best Actress (Denise Welch) and Best Family Drama. Our personal favourite was the Best Comedy Show award, which went to the hilarious The Inbetweeners.
