Darcy Bussells Onto Strictly Panel

The former Principal Dancer at the Royal Ballet, Darcy Bussell CBE, joins the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing judging panel for the new series this year. She joins Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel-Horwood, replacing Alesha Dixon. Alesha left the show that once crowned her champion after three years on the panel, to join ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent. Since then, there was only really been one name mooted as a replacement for her. Darcy is no stranger to Strictly. She was a guest judge on the show back in 2009, so her appointment as a full-time judge isn’t a surprise. Having been a prima ballerina from 1988 until her retirement in 2007, Darcy will have plenty of constructive criticism to offer the contestants.
