Dixons Has Knowhow
Electrical retailer Dixons has launched a pay-as-you-go TV and film download service called Knowhow. Users can now rent or buy TV shows from the website, via an internet-enabled television, tablets, on their games console or on their mobile phones. The company – which owns PC World, Currys and Dixons.co.uk – has agreed a deal with Disney, Warner Brothers and Momentum Pictures to launch the service today. TV shows can be streamed or downloaded from £1.99 and new film releases can be rented from £3.99. Films can also be bought for £12.99. The service has been designed to appeal to both the digital generation and those who aren’t tech savvy – as all Dixons stores will have experts at hand to demonstrate the product to customers.
