Geordie Shore in Cancun!
The Geordie Shore lot are back, and this time they’re doing their worst in Cancun! The gang joined the randy American Spring-Breakers for five weeks, as they partied hard, and got hard, in Mexico.
There were no real surprises with their ‘humble’ abode, as we were treated to a massive beach house, complete with shag pad and pool. The only real surprise this time was their boss, Cancun Chris. As he laid down the law Cancun-style, it was obvious the rules have been engineered by producers in a blatant attempt to invite punishment once someone inevitably breaks them. And break them they did, as Charlotte and Becca immediately broke the first rule Cancun Chris imposed – don’t go out on the first day. We will see the repercussions of their rule-breaking in the next episode, but I can’t help feeling that his order to ‘pack your bags and get out’ somehow won’t come to fruition. I mean, we can’t have Geordie Shore without Charlotte (Becca? Meh…)!
Other than that, the episode delivered a lot of the familiar Geordie hilarity. Charlotte is still the funniest, especially when she comes up with lines like: “I’m not used to salt water in my eyes…apart from cum”. Sophie is back with loser Joel and therefore straddling party animal and bunny boiler roles equally. Gary continues to shag like a parsnip-ladened bunny rabbit. Jay is under the thumb back in Newcastle so is off the market. He even sports a cringeworthy tattoo of his girlfriend’s name on his torso! James continues to deny the fact he’s gay. This is the man who promises and never delivers on the chick front and dresses in the tiniest, apparently heterosexual, short-shorts. Wake up and smell the tanning lotion, James! Ricci and Vicky have become the boring couple who are making out in every shot together. Apparently, they get engaged during the series, but not before the usual spat of yelling and tantrum-throwing – judging by next week’s preview. All-in-all, if you loved the Magaluf Madness, then you’re going to love the Cancun Chaos this time round!
