Harold Finds New Neighbours

Harold Bishop is saying his final goodbyes to his neighbours on Ramsay Street! Actor Ian Smith is the longest-serving cast member on the Aussie soap, playing his character for 22 years, and has shared screen-time alongside the likes of Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan. Poor old Harold’s been through a lot in the last two decades. He’s lost two wives, perhaps most notably Madge. He also lost his children in two separate freak accidents. Let’s not forget his infamous comeback in 1996, after an absence of five years. Just when we thought he had gone missing at sea, it turned out he survived the accident but suffered amnesia. Despite all the dramas, Harold will always be remembered as the bubbly coffee shop owner. He even became part of a comedy double act with Lou Carpenter! The Erinsborough icon drives off into the sunset on Friday’s episode…it’s an emotional goodbye to a character that became a part of our childhoods.
