Kimberley Walsh Wants Xtra Factor Job

The Girls Aloud beauty admits she would love to take over from Konnie Huq – who was dropped from the ITV2 spin-off show earlier this month after failing to impress viewers – although would find it hard to stay impartial because bandmate and close friend Cheryl Cole is a judge.

Kimberley – who shot to fame after winning a place in Girls Aloud after competing on television talent show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002 – said: “It’s too easy to criticise Konnie – it’s a tough job trying to keep everything moving on an hour of live TV. A lot of people tell me I should do it, but I think I’d be too biased with Cheryl being a judge. Then again I’d love to do it because I’ve been there and know what the contestants are going through so I’d be able to help them. I get on well with Simon Cowell, he’s always been really nice. He’s got something about him that I like and respect.”
