Live Birth on EastEnders
A week after we were treated to Billy’s Olympic Nightmare on the Red Button, EastEnders will be gearing up for a live episode, as Billy Mitchell prepares to carry the torch for Walford during the Olympic torch relay. However, whilst all eyes are on bumbling Billy, his tearaway teenage grand-daughter will unexpectedly go into labour. Lola’s contractions will begin as she and Jay stir trouble on the Square. The Olympics special will see Billy racing back from his moment in the spotlight to be by Lola’s side as she gives birth. This will be the second time someone goes into labour on a live episode in a British soap. Fiz Stape gave birth to daughter Hope in Coronation Street’s live 50th anniversary episode in 2010. EastEnders will broadcast live next Monday, July 23rd, on BBC One at 8pm and 9pm.
