Long Awaited The Runaway Begins on Our Screens Tomorrow
Martina Coles best-selling novel, The Runaway begins on Sky One tomorrow night. It features an all-star cast including Alan Cummings, Keith Allen and Ken Scott. Viewers are sure to be impressed again by Jack O’Connell playing Eamonn Doherty, most recognisable as James Cook in series 4 of Skins.
Eamonn joins the criminal underworld, beginning a turbulant relationship with his boss’ daughter, which ends with him killing her in a violent rage. Set in the 60′s, spanning accross two decades, The Runaway centres around childhood sweethearts Cathy and Eamonn, brought up in the East End of London. As they grow up they are forced apart by the twists and opportunities they encounter in their lives. The daughter of a prostitue, Cathy is eventually taken in to care where she is abused and has no choice but to run away.
Jack O’Connell can also be seen in other impressively gritty dramas including This is England and Harry Brown. He is sure to have a bright future ahead of him.
