Luck
Horse-racing. It’s not the most sexy of sports is it? When you think of exciting drama you don’t generally think of horse-racing. It’s almost an oxymoron. Yet, HBO has managed to produce another masterpiece in the form of horse-racing drama series Luck, starring Dustin Hoffman.
Following on from the success of Emmy fave Mildred Pierce and Temple Grandin, HBO brings another star-studded piece to Sky Atlantic in January. Luck stars Dustin Hoffman as Chester Bernstein, a hardened criminal who comes out of prison and starts a plan to conduct a heist on the racetrack. The series features the potent combination of crime, drama, violence, gambling and…horse-racing. The pilot episode is directed by acclaimed director Michael Mann and costars Nick Nolte, Kevin Dunn, Dennis Farina and John Ortiz.
You may have noticed Dustin was the star of the Sky Atlantic commercials when it first launched, now you know why. This in-production video makes the drama look pretty awesome, so we’re looking forward to it hitting our screens early next year:
