MTV Introduces The Valleys!
First it was Jersey Shore, then Geordie Shore. Now, MTV – the new home of trashy reality TV – is launching…wait for it…The Valleys! South Wales’ trashiest are about to shame their home towns of Tonyrefail and Tonypandy. The channel has picked the cream of the crop – budding glamour models and aspiring club promoters – to star in a reality series that will follow them moving out of the valleys and attempting to find work in the busy city of Cardiff. MTV seems to be branching out a little in its remit. These lot will have to actually look for work, instead of being given summer jobs in T-shirt shops and tanning salons (like Jersey/Geordie Shore). The channel is also widening its demographic, as the cast features a gay guy and, more shockingly, a law student!
The Valleys is a six-part series coming to MTV in September.
