Olympic Torch Comes to Walford
Last night’s EastEnders featured the Olympic torch being carried live through Albert Square. Resident Billy Mitchell ran through the Square, cheered on by all the cast – including an actual smiling Phil Mitchell. What was hyped up as a ‘live’ episode in the end only contained a live segment, which was a bit of a disappointment. However, it was worth it just to see actor Perry Fenwick wink to camera and say ‘let’s do it!’ as the episode went live to the Torch Relay. It was also quite a comedic episode, which led on nicely to the Absolutely Fabulous Olympics special. Thankfully, the latest Ab Fab installment made up for the dismal last two, and was back to the old outrageous antics and political incorrectness. It was a nice way to say goodbye once again to Eddy, Patsy and crew.
