Spice Girls Back on TV

The Spice Girls franchise is once again up and running, as rumours circulate that the girls are going to get back together. But wait! It’s not for a tour (boo!) but for a new TV show. The girls want to launch a programme similar to I’d Do Anything, where they aim to find people to play the parts of Posh, Sporty, Scary, Baby and Ginger in a West End musical about the girl group. Apparently, they see it as a way to have a reunion without the massive commitment of touring plus, of course, the end product will be a potentially lucrative musical about their rise to fame. What do you think? Would you go to see the story of the Spice Girls on stage? I’m not too sure about the actual musical, but I’m looking forward to seeing the general public auditioning for the roles of the five personalities. In the meantime, let’s reminisce back to when the band created clones of themselves for Comic Relief. The Sugar Lumps comprised Jennifer Saunders as Ginger, Kathy Burke was Sporty, Llewella Gideon as Scary, Lulu played Baby and Dawn French was a hilarious Posh. Could the TV show do any better than this??
