The latest craze in America seems to be the live talk show spin-off. So far, three shows have spawned spin-offs in the form of live talk shows that air immediately after the original programme has broadcast its latest episode. Let me explain: The Walking Dead was the first to give it a go. After each episode airs on American broadcaster AMC, Talking Dead follows. The latter is a chat show that encourages zombie enthusiasts to dissect the latest happenings and share opinions. And now US channel TNT is following suit. Dallas Round-Up has been scheduled as an online spin-off to the revived Dallas, and Falling Skies also has an online companion called…umm…’2nd Watch’? This trend looks to only increase as viewers continue to favour a second-screen, social network-sharing TV viewing experience.
