TVGuide.co.uk Awards 2013: The Results!
Here are the much-awaited results of your votes for the 2013 inaugural TVGuide.co.uk Awards – massive thanks to everyone who voted! Ant and Dec continue their reign of British telly, winning Best Presenter, and I’m a Celeb wins Best Reality Show. Miranda Hart is queen of TVGuide, winning the Best Actress category and her series Call the Midwife also wins Best Drama. You Sherlock fans came good for Benedict Cumberbatch in the Best Actor category, whilst steadfast Top Gear fans voted the show Best Factual. Come Dine with Me is king of the Daytime shows and Celebrity Juice narrowly pipped The Big Bang Theory to Best Comedy. BBC1 was hailed Best Channel, comfortably putting ITV in second place. Corrie came out on top of the soaps and, interestingly, Alan Halsall (Tyrone Dobbs) and Michelle Keegan (Tina McIntyre) acquired the most votes out of the soap actors in our acting categories. Special mentions should go to the following who didn’t win any accolades but bagged a sizeable proportion of votes: EastEnders was 4% behind Corrie in the Best Soap category, securing 23% of the votes. The Big Bang Theory had won the Best Comedy award until your mobile app votes were pooled in with online votes and crowned Keith Lemon comedy king! The same fate fell to Sherlock for Best Drama, who was frontrunner until mobile app votes put the midwives streets ahead. I’m a Celeb (25%) pipped Strictly to Best Reality Show by a margin of 6%, whilst Top Gear (28%) secured the same percentage on top of BBC1’s Africa in the Best Factual category. This Morning earned a comfortable second place in the Best Daytime category and E4 did well to gain third place after BBC1 and ITV for Best Channel.
