TVGuide.co.uk iPhone Survey Results
TVGuide.co.uk recently conducted a survey of its iPhone app users to find out more about their telly viewing habits. Over a thousand of you responded and the results are now in! A solid 92% of respondents use our app while they watch TV. The traditional TV screen is still the preferred method of television-watching, gaining 78% of the votes, with 46% saying yes to watching TV on their mobile phones. Surprisingly, only 30% watch TV on a laptop. Two thirds of the respondents use Facebook whilst watching television, closely followed by 49% who use messaging apps. 38% play games while watching TV and a surprisingly-low 24% said they also use Twitter. Most respondents (61%) catch up on TV they have missed via online video-on-demand sites like BBC iPlayer or 4oD. Remote record gained 14% of votes, followed closely by 13% who would wait for a repeat. When asked what services they subscribe to, a massive 47% of users named Freeview – with under half of that (20%) subscribing to Virgin. It would appear most of you watch TV for two or three hours a day (51%) whilst 29% watch for longer – around four or five hours.
