Waking the Dead is back
One of our most popular home-grown crime dramas, the Emmy-winning Waking the Dead, returns this weekend for a ninth and final series.
Detective Superintendent Peter Boyd (played by silver fox Trevor Eve) heads up the Met’s Cold Case Unit once again, alongside Grace (Sue Johnston), Eve (Tara FitzGerald) and Spence (Wil Johnson). But for the first time in his career, Boyd must welcome a new recruit to the team who is of equal rank to him. Sarah Cavendish (Eva Birthistle) is a highly competent ex-counter-terrorism officer. Although she fits into the team well, she is also dealing with the effects of post-traumatic stress and it’s up to Boyd to protect her from harm. Equally, Cavendish challenges Boyd’s recklessness in the line of duty – something, she warns, he will pay for one day.
Waking the Dead makes its much-anticipated return this Sunday, March 13th, at 9pm.
