Which Sports Personality is Above Par?
The BBC has released the shortlist for this year’s BBC Sports Personality of the Year. Who do YOU think is worthy of the title? Will it be cyclist Mark Cavendish – the first ever British winner of the green jersey at the Tour de France? Or maybe golfer Rory McIlroy deserves it after his record-breaking eight-shot victory at the US Open? Boxer Amir Khan hopes to be nine fights undefeated by the time the awards take place on December 22nd, so he could be a worthy winner. Tennis star Andy Murray has had a great year – reaching the Australian Open finals and semis for Wimbledon, French Open and US Open. Cricketers Andrew Strauss and Alastair Cook make the nominations list, as do athletes Mo Farah and Dai Greene. Golfers Darren Clarke and Luke Donald complete the line-up. Current odds-on favourite to clinch the title is Rory McIlroy.
