Wimbledon Goes Interactive
Wimbledon begins its first-round singles matches next Monday. In an attempt to avoid being overshadowed by the London 2012 Olympics, the BBC has upped its game this year (excuse the pun) and will host interactive coverage of the tournament for the first time.
Tennis fans will be able to choose from six different streams of live action via the BBC Sports website. The BBC Red Button will offer the option to watch an alternate match on Freeview, and up to four live streams on satellite, cable and Freesat. BBC iPlayer will broadcast two full matches every day of the tournament, and the Mens’ and Ladies’ finals will once again be available to watch in 3D on BBC One HD for free.
This year for the first time ever, audiences will also be able to tune into the Championships via the BBC Sports app on connected TVs. Coverage includes live action as well as on-demand content, interviews and highlights. You can also watch live feeds on the go, with mobile and tablet devices.
Wimbledon 2012 starts on Monday June 25 at 11.30am on BBC One.
